Oh Christmas Tree...

Happy Black Friday, friends!

For my blog post up on Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz, I have a fun Christmas inspired craft to share with you.

But first...a sale. :)

I'm one of "those people" that puts my Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving. Ok - only the day before, but still.

Here's the finished product:

I used Licorice Twine to hang the red ornaments and I love the end result!

Give Thanks

Turkey time is just around the corner!  I love Thanksgiving.  I love the food, family, friends and of course, everything that I have to be grateful for.

This card is the first one I've made in probably 2 years.
I got an idea in my head and just whipped it out.  LOVE it when that happens!!

The stamp set is BRAND SPANKING NEW from Bella Creations!  The twine that the cute little turkey is sitting on is from Timeless Twine, and you can get it here for $2.25/spool!!!

Gobble till you wobble, friends.

Autumn Picture Frame

October is officially my favorite month.

Well, next to April but that's for a whole other reason. :)

Sweaters. Hot drinks.  Cold air.

And CUTE little kids to take pictures of at the pumpkin patch.

I saw this cute little frame on Pinterest and I knew I needed to make one.

Get a piece of wood, wrap your favorite twine (I used Timeless Twine's Autumn Splendor) around it so you can slip a picture through it.  Embellish as you see fit!  I like it because I can update the picture in it each year, or you can make it with 1 picture permanently on it.

Oh, did I mention that this fabulous fall twine is on sale for $2.25/roll??

Well, it is. :)  So go buy some!!

Halloween Candle Holder

Happy Friday, friends!

Today, I'm up on the Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz blog with a festive candle holder for Halloween.

Before I show you my creation, just wanted to let ya'll know that these fabulous Halloween colors are ON SALE!!  $4.50 for a spool.  They're so much fun to play with, and you can find them all HERE!!

Now, for the feature presentation:

I took a vase that I already had, and bought some candy corn and white candle, as well as some fun burlap.  After I secured the burlap in place, I simply wrapped the Solid Black twine around it.

My daughter kept saying "that's SO STINKING cute!" when she saw the finished project. :)

Happy Haunting!

Trick or Treat

Can you believe that next week is the first of October??  Not me.  Crazy how fast this year has gone!

October = Halloween, where all of the cute little goblins and ghouls come out requesting candy.

It's really not a secret among my friends and family that Halloween is NOT my favorite holiday.  However, in our new house, I have a mantle that's begging to be decorated.

So, for my first DIY project in the new house, I've made a cute little banner that I've hung across the mantle.

The letters were a pre-made kit that I found at Michaels, as well as the ghosts.  The ghosts were solid white, so I took a black sharpie to them to draw their eyes.  I used a small hole punch on both sides of their head to string the Halloween Combo twine through so that I could hang it up.

All of the Halloween colored twine is on sale for $4.50.  Trust me when I tell you it's SO fun to craft with!!

47 Has Never Looked So Good

On Tuesday, we celebrated my handsome husband's birthday early since he has to work on his actual birthday.  47 has seriously never looked so good. :)

The Timeless Twine by Bella Creationz theme this month is "Birthday" so what a perfect opportunity to use their awesome products to make a fun pocket layout.

I used Aqua Blue and Raspberry Pink (which all rolls are on sale for $8!!!!) for the swirls on the title card.  The cute little silver stars sequins are coming soon, but there's many other styles available in their shop!  And, my go-to journaling card, Days of the Week.

PlanNerd Sunday

I know that I said I'd never get into planners, but with all of the cute accessories and planners these days, it's really hard to just say no.

So, that means I'm up today with my first PlanNerd post for Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz.

I have to admit, this was REALLY fun to put together.  But don't be deceived - it isn't as easy as it looking!  This spread took over 2 hours to make but I wanted it PERFECT - CUTE yet FUNCTIONAL.

Here is the main week:
I LOVE the weekend stamp from the Weekend Plans stamp set!

I LOVE the journaling spot on the PlanNerd and the Project Planner spot on the PlanNerd 2 stamp sets.  The journaling spot is also GREAT for making lists (like chores...pffft.) and shopping lists!

When stamping, one technique that I'm really loving is double stamping w/o re-inking.  It's just fun!!

You can find all of these AWESOME planner stamps (and more!) in the Bella Creations Etsy shop.

Note to Self

Hi everyone!!

As I've been doing strictly Project Life for 2.5 years now, I'm finding my "process" change.  I used to do our spreads on a weekly basis, but now that Neysa is older and is busy with school/dance/playing with friends, I was finding that our weeks were getting kind of repetitive and boring. :)  So, I've switched to a monthly spread.  I do specific events (dance competitions, holidays, a friend's birthday party, etc. for example) together, and then I usually have a few pages of random stuff that we've done throughout the month that's notable, but not necessarily belonging to anything specific.

My very favorite part of doing it monthly is going back through my Momento app, and doing screen shot prints of the funny (or sometimes not so funny.) things that have happened that or that Neysa has said that I've posted in Instagram or Facebook.  Using the Design F protector, I cut them down to 3x4 squares and scrapbook them just as I would a picture.  I love looking back (especially since it's now the end of August and today's project is from April....) and re-living those moments.

That's what it's all about, right??

Here's April 2015:

I am TOTALLY diggin' the flower card with the random petals stitched with Cape Cod Twine!

Timehop makes for some fun screen shots as well. :)
I did another twine frame around the bottom right picture.  I really love how it gives it some dimension.

These doilies are FABULOUS for adding even more texture/depth to your basic cards.

I'll be back September 6th with my very first PlanNerd post!  I'm pretty excited for that. :)

Snorkle & Snuba

Happy Friday, friends!!

I'm up today on the Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz blog with a new PL spread from our trip to Hawaii last September.

I can't believe it's already been a year...  For those who don't know, Snuba is a mix between snorkeling and scuba diving.  You're tethered to a raft that carries the oxygen for you instead of in tanks on your back.  I wasn't able to breathe w/the respirators so I couldn't do it, but my husband was able to and had a BLAST!

I chose to keep this LO very simple as the pictures really speak for themselves.  The Cape Cod Twine was the perfect neutral with some color for this project. The banner was so fun to make!

I also used Days of the Week Journaling Cards, and the Hello Summer Stamp Set to add a few little pops of cute. :)

Summer Fun

Summer lovin'.....  just kidding.
I don't like summer.  I hate the heat and would take winter and snow year round if it were possible.

But, I digress.

One fun thing about summer is all of the water games that my little girl gets to play.  We recently went to a "Family Celebration" of my best friend who's husband adopted her 2 boys.  What an amazing experience for them.

So what do we do to celebrate?  We party.  And by party, I mean make a giant slip and slide down a hill at the park by their house. :)

Full spread.

My very first Fused pocket!  I need some practice...my top line isn't very straight.  I also double stamped the "hello summer" which is new for me.  Black on bottom, and yellow on top.

This twine frame was fun to make and turned out SUPER cute!  I will be doing this on more layouts. :)

I used Raspberry Lemonade twine to make it.  Adds a lot of dimension on a pretty flat project!  I also used the Hello Summer stamps, which are on sale for $7.50 right now!!  Inside of the Fused pockets, I added Bella Creationz sequins, and some random fine glitter I had laying around my craft room.

This will be my last post before we move into our new house!  I'm stoked to get my new scrapbook area up and ready to use. :)

Wind Storm!!

Howdy, howdy, howdy!

I'm up again on the Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz blog w/a photo inspiration challenge.

Here's the picture we were to use:

I loved the color combination in the picture, so I chose to focus on that.

Here's what I came up with:

A very clean and simple LO to document a pretty scary storm we had roll through Salt Lake City back in April.  Even with as simple as this LO is, the twine REALLY adds to it and makes it a little more fancy! :)

I used Cherry and Aqua twine (which are also ON SALE for $8/spool!!  SCORE!!), and my go-to Days of the Week journaling card.

Let's Party Like It's 1776.

Hi friends. :)

Can you believe that the 4th of July is right around the corner?  It's BY FAR my favorite holiday, and I am positive I'll have 8700 pictures to add to my album.

I've been enjoying making the cards ahead of time so I can just slip those pictures in.  Makes it even more quick and easy to keep my album caught up!

I love the stitching on the title card....even though I am pretty sure I found the needle with the smallest eye.  Make sure you've got a BIG eye'd needle or it's REALLY hard to thread the twine.  Trust me. :)

For these cards, I used Firecracker Twine, Happy Days clear stamps, Days of the Week journaling cards, and a Paper Lace Doilies.

Have a safe holiday!

School's Out For Summer!

Hi friends!

Neysa's first year of pre-school is over and we ADORED her teachers.  They are 2 of the most kind people I think I've ever met in my life.  They truly love teaching and the kids.

To show our appreciation, I went out and bought some gift cards to Starbucks, Bath and Body Works, The Sweet Tooth Fairy, and Hobby Lobby.

(how can you go wrong with any of those places?!?)

I found some little gift bags that I actually had leftover from Valentines Day.

(funny the things you find as you get ready to move....)

I put them in the gift bags, added a cute little tag, and tied them up with Timeless Twine's super fun Firecracker twine.

And there you have it!  A gift that any one will enjoy! :)

Tag It Tuesday - 2nd Place is SWEET!

Hi friends!!

I'm back again this fine Tuesday with a "Tag It Tuesday" post for Timeless Twine.

My little 4-year old daughter just competed in her first dance competition, dancing a solo.  I had a fun idea for this spread to use a brown bag as the tag holder.

Here's the full spread:

And, here's the cute tag pocket I made.

I trimmed down the bag to the 3x4 size.  Before I stapled the front and back back together, I used Raspberry Pink Timeless Twine to stitch the cute little heart on the bag.  I then cut the picture down (I think it's like 2.5x3) to fit.  Cut some pieces of the raspberry twine, and stapled them to the back of the picture for easy-peasy removal of the tag any time I want to see her happy little face. :)

Here's close ups of left and right side:

I also used these super fun Days of the Week journaling cards, as well as a few Silver Star Sequins and stamps from the Oh, Snap! stamp set to compete the finishing touches.

Now, I want to see YOU incorporate tags into you PL albums!  As you can see, it's EASY and oh so CUTE!!

Enjoy your day!!

Monochromatic Monday - Pocket Scrapbooking Card Sets

Happy Monday!

I am up on the Timeless Twine blog today with 2 cute sets of PL cards that I made for the "Monday Monochromatic" theme.

A pink set:

And, a Turquoise set:

These were fun and simple to make!  The touches of Natural White and Tuxedo Black twine along with PlanNerd and Oh, Snap! stamps make for some fun embellishments.

Fun Friday - Fairy Garden Style

Hi friends!  Happy Friday!!

Do you ever wake up first thing in the morning like a light went off in your head and you absolutely knew what you were going to do that day?  Well, it happened to me Sunday.

Today, I've got a SUPER fun project that can TOTALLY be done with your kids.
Heck, even THIS big kid (me) had a blast making this!

My little girl, Neysa, went with me to Michael's on Sunday to pick out flowers, rocks and some accessories for our gardens.
The husband was watching The Master's tournament so it was a good time to escape for a bit!

After we got home, here's what we came up with.

Here's hers:

She was so proud and happy!  We are going to keep it in her room on her dresser so the fairies can come in at night. :)

Her and I frequently "cwaft" together, but this was even more fun than usual for her because it involved dirt. :)  She did ALL of this on her own - I only helped with the rocks in the pond and the banner and tutu's.  She's been trained very well.

Here is what I came up with for mine.

For the house and bench, I hot glued popsicle sticks together and wrapped with Timeless Twine in Key Lime Sorbet and Razzleberry Sorbet (which, BTW, are on sale for $7/spool or $18 for all 3 colors!!!).  I also used those 2 colors for the banner and clothes line.

I seriously had SO much fun making this - especially since I was able to spend that extra quality time with Neysa.  :)

Sequin/Shaker Saturday - A Non-traditional Approach

Hi again, friends!

It's spring!  It's allergy season!  It's time for fun, happy colors!!

I'm up on the Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz today with a sequin/shaker Saturday project.

Typical shaker cards have a little bit of bulk to them that wasn't going to work for my purposes.  If something doesn't work for what you're needing, there's no rules that say you HAVE to do it a certain way.  Be creative!!

This is how thin the card is.

I guess you could say this isn't a traditional shaker card.
(I've always been a bit of a rule breaker. ;))

Here's the entire set that I made.

I am in {LOVE} with this 4x6 title card!  Before I put the sequins in, I tied a bow made out of Razzleberry Sorbet twine around the backer card.  I think it turned out great and it's definitely something I'll do again!

The smaller 3x4 cards:

I cut 3 smaller than the card strands of  Key Lime Sorbet twine and stapled them down on the card for some added texture.  The "Happy Spring" card is also a flat shaker and stamped with the Bella Creationz PlanNERD stamps, and the journaling card is stamped with the Oh, Snap! set.

(A slight obsession w/these stamps is happening here....)

This project was SO fun for me to do!  I can't wait for April to end so I can get my pics printed and get them and these cards right into my album. :)

xoxo, Amber
