Note to Self

Hi everyone!!

As I've been doing strictly Project Life for 2.5 years now, I'm finding my "process" change.  I used to do our spreads on a weekly basis, but now that Neysa is older and is busy with school/dance/playing with friends, I was finding that our weeks were getting kind of repetitive and boring. :)  So, I've switched to a monthly spread.  I do specific events (dance competitions, holidays, a friend's birthday party, etc. for example) together, and then I usually have a few pages of random stuff that we've done throughout the month that's notable, but not necessarily belonging to anything specific.

My very favorite part of doing it monthly is going back through my Momento app, and doing screen shot prints of the funny (or sometimes not so funny.) things that have happened that or that Neysa has said that I've posted in Instagram or Facebook.  Using the Design F protector, I cut them down to 3x4 squares and scrapbook them just as I would a picture.  I love looking back (especially since it's now the end of August and today's project is from April....) and re-living those moments.

That's what it's all about, right??

Here's April 2015:

I am TOTALLY diggin' the flower card with the random petals stitched with Cape Cod Twine!

Timehop makes for some fun screen shots as well. :)
I did another twine frame around the bottom right picture.  I really love how it gives it some dimension.

These doilies are FABULOUS for adding even more texture/depth to your basic cards.

I'll be back September 6th with my very first PlanNerd post!  I'm pretty excited for that. :)

Snorkle & Snuba

Happy Friday, friends!!

I'm up today on the Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz blog with a new PL spread from our trip to Hawaii last September.

I can't believe it's already been a year...  For those who don't know, Snuba is a mix between snorkeling and scuba diving.  You're tethered to a raft that carries the oxygen for you instead of in tanks on your back.  I wasn't able to breathe w/the respirators so I couldn't do it, but my husband was able to and had a BLAST!

I chose to keep this LO very simple as the pictures really speak for themselves.  The Cape Cod Twine was the perfect neutral with some color for this project. The banner was so fun to make!

I also used Days of the Week Journaling Cards, and the Hello Summer Stamp Set to add a few little pops of cute. :)

Summer Fun

Summer lovin'.....  just kidding.
I don't like summer.  I hate the heat and would take winter and snow year round if it were possible.

But, I digress.

One fun thing about summer is all of the water games that my little girl gets to play.  We recently went to a "Family Celebration" of my best friend who's husband adopted her 2 boys.  What an amazing experience for them.

So what do we do to celebrate?  We party.  And by party, I mean make a giant slip and slide down a hill at the park by their house. :)

Full spread.

My very first Fused pocket!  I need some practice...my top line isn't very straight.  I also double stamped the "hello summer" which is new for me.  Black on bottom, and yellow on top.

This twine frame was fun to make and turned out SUPER cute!  I will be doing this on more layouts. :)

I used Raspberry Lemonade twine to make it.  Adds a lot of dimension on a pretty flat project!  I also used the Hello Summer stamps, which are on sale for $7.50 right now!!  Inside of the Fused pockets, I added Bella Creationz sequins, and some random fine glitter I had laying around my craft room.

This will be my last post before we move into our new house!  I'm stoked to get my new scrapbook area up and ready to use. :)

Let's Party Like It's 1776.

Hi friends. :)

Can you believe that the 4th of July is right around the corner?  It's BY FAR my favorite holiday, and I am positive I'll have 8700 pictures to add to my album.

I've been enjoying making the cards ahead of time so I can just slip those pictures in.  Makes it even more quick and easy to keep my album caught up!

I love the stitching on the title card....even though I am pretty sure I found the needle with the smallest eye.  Make sure you've got a BIG eye'd needle or it's REALLY hard to thread the twine.  Trust me. :)

For these cards, I used Firecracker Twine, Happy Days clear stamps, Days of the Week journaling cards, and a Paper Lace Doilies.

Have a safe holiday!

Tag It Tuesday - 2nd Place is SWEET!

Hi friends!!

I'm back again this fine Tuesday with a "Tag It Tuesday" post for Timeless Twine.

My little 4-year old daughter just competed in her first dance competition, dancing a solo.  I had a fun idea for this spread to use a brown bag as the tag holder.

Here's the full spread:

And, here's the cute tag pocket I made.

I trimmed down the bag to the 3x4 size.  Before I stapled the front and back back together, I used Raspberry Pink Timeless Twine to stitch the cute little heart on the bag.  I then cut the picture down (I think it's like 2.5x3) to fit.  Cut some pieces of the raspberry twine, and stapled them to the back of the picture for easy-peasy removal of the tag any time I want to see her happy little face. :)

Here's close ups of left and right side:

I also used these super fun Days of the Week journaling cards, as well as a few Silver Star Sequins and stamps from the Oh, Snap! stamp set to compete the finishing touches.

Now, I want to see YOU incorporate tags into you PL albums!  As you can see, it's EASY and oh so CUTE!!

Enjoy your day!!

Monochromatic Monday - Pocket Scrapbooking Card Sets

Happy Monday!

I am up on the Timeless Twine blog today with 2 cute sets of PL cards that I made for the "Monday Monochromatic" theme.

A pink set:

And, a Turquoise set:

These were fun and simple to make!  The touches of Natural White and Tuxedo Black twine along with PlanNerd and Oh, Snap! stamps make for some fun embellishments.

3D Thursday - Travel Journal Mini Book

Happy Thursday, friends!!

On the Timeless Twine Creative Crew, we have set challenges for each day of the month.  On each of my days, I try my very best to meet each challenge using Pocket Scrapbooking.  Well, today is 3D Thursday.

If you pocket scrapbook, you can understand why I would panic a little bit about that! :)
Truth be told, I almost caved and created a cute little critter on my Silhouette for Easter.  BUT...then I put my big girl panties on and decided that I was going to make this work!  I enjoy a challenge.

So, I went to work.

I chose 3 4x6 themed cards from the Sn@p "Travel" collection that I had laying around just waiting for me to use and folded them in half making 6 mini book pages.  Instead of using staples to put the pages together, I took some of the super cute Timeless Twine to TIE them together!  I chose Chocolate Chip and Olive Green twine - it's darling with these cards!

Here's the full spread:

And a few pages of the mini book:

Lots of spots for journaling things that I don't necessarily want to share with the public.

Like perhaps locking my daughter in the rental car after I had put her in her car seat.  Yeah.....mother of the year moment!!  We were still at the rental car place and got her out quick.  Shout out to Budget rental cars!!

I also found this great little travel agenda card that I used the Bella Creationz PlanNerd stamp set to cute it up a bit.  I use these stamps on everything.  Seriously.  They're SO versatile!!!!

Until next time, friends!

Creative Crew - Bella Creationz/Timeless Twine - Anything Goes #1

Hello friends!

Today is my first post with Bella Creationz/Timeless Twine and I think you're going to {LOVE} what I've got to share with you.

Even though it's January, I know that some (most? ;)) of you are still finishing up your 2014 edition of December Daily.

No judgement here!!  I barely just finished 2013 mid December THIS YEAR!!  Better late than never, right?? :)

Today, I'm going to share days 1 - 8 from my DD out of my family album.

I chose to do mine differently this year.  Instead of creating a full mini album as I did last year, I am inserting it right into my pocket album.  December Daily is basically a daily scrapbook of your December events.  Really fun to do with all of the holiday events that happen!

I chose Doodlebug's "Santa Express" as the base for this project.  I'm in LOVE with the bright colors and Timeless Twine accents and matches perfectly with it!!!

Throughout the course of this year, I'm going to show you how easy and {CUTE} it is to use Twine in your pocket spreads.  It adds so much to your LO's.

Here's my full spread:
You can click on each image to open it up bigger to see all of the detail!

June 16 - 22.

Becky Higgins and Heidi Swap teaming up for 2 new PL kits WITH embellishments?!  Of course I had to check them out.  I fell in {love} with "Favorite Things".  Tons of bright, loud colors - right up my alley.

While I'm still trying to get caught up, I'm keeping the embellishing to a minimum.

UmWow Studio - July Sketch!

Feeling a little bit in a rut w/my PL'ing and this sketch challenge popped up on my FB news feed so I thought I'd give it a shot!

You can find the link up here if you want to join, too! :)

Here's my take.

Great elements in the original sketch, but it's hard to fit all of them on a 4x6 card so this is my interpretation of it. :)  I used the heart mask and Mustard 29 flair from the UmWow store.

Now, back to my table!!

Guest Designer - UmWowStudio - Pocket Page

Hey everyone!!

Today, I've got a Guest Designer post up over at UmWowStudio.  I've been friends with the owner, DeeDee, for over 2 years now and have been so happy to see her business start from the ground and grow into an incredibly successful business.  I LOVE seeing successful women!!

Her store has AMAZING chipboard and mask products.  If you're into Mixed Media at all, or are just obsessed with naked chipboard like me, you really need to check it out here.

She asked me to be the Guest Designer in June, and of course I said yes.

I had SO much fun with this LO, and had EVEN MORE FUN creating the insert. :)

This is SO easy, my little 3 year old could do it.

First, I took a Project Life insert (design J 4x4 is the one I chose) and put some of the UmWow Pocket Chip, UmWow Documented Hashtag Banners, random sequins, and a metal butterfly.

Once I was happy with how the pockets looked, I broke out my trusty sewing machine, and simply stitched across the top of each pocket.

That's it!  It's so easy, fun and adds so much to your spread.  I can't sew a straight line to save my life, but you really can't tell so that's another bonus.

Another product of hers that I want to draw attention to are the masks.  These are high quality, non-flimsy, pieces of delightfulness.  Last week, I did a post on how to make the card below.  For the star one, I used an UmWow star mask. :)

Here are some other close ups of the right and left pages:

DeeDee, thanks so much for featuring me!
It's be really fun to play with your products and incorporate them into my weekly PL album. :)

xoxo, Amber
