Just kidding about the title....for my readers anyways. My crafty space was indeed a hoarder room, or organized chaos as I call it. :)
Here's my space before:
I really do struggle with keeping things neat and tidy. If it's put away in it's place, I can't ever find it. If it's left out, I typically know exactly where it's at. Ask my husband - he can vouch for that! :)
Here are my after pictures.
So, I basically have 3 walls in my crafty space. This desk shares a wall with my sewing stuff. That is not included in this post. :) I share my "diecut desk" with my husbands cords for the internet and stereo system, etc. There's not a ton I can do about it, but when my laptop is under the Cameo, the back mess stays quite hidden. :)
On my other 2 walls are my shelves, another desk and my paper tower. I have a big window by my desk that I love, and use the sill as storage as well.
I don't care for my desk. At all. But I did find a bright side to it - this little pull out shelfy thing where I keep my big tools like a paper trimmer, score board, etc. This part of the desk makes me not hate it so much.
I had one of those big embellishment centers from Making Memories on the wall, but I bought a new shelf and needed to move my paper tower to the other side of the desk so I had to take it down. Along with taking it down came all of my inks, stickles, etc. with no home to call their own. So, I went to WalMart and got some stacking storage bins and honestly - I LOVE THEM. I don't mind having to dig through for what I'm looking for. My staple items are going to be on the top as I use them (walnut stain...) all of the time. It works perfectly for me!
Now, for the fun stuff.
This Blog Hop is being hosted by the Design Team for CropChocolate. If you've never been to CropChocolate's site, you're totally missing out.
If you found me in the middle of perusing the internet, WELCOME!! I am the beginning of the hop, so please - play along! :)

Now for the REALLY fun stuff. :)

On Monday, June 11th I'll draw a random winner and send these goodies off to them! :) You can't win if you don't play! :) Now, I'm off to make another disaster.
Enjoy!
Amber! Love your after pictures! You did so well getting organized. Now take a picture in a week and show me, hehe. I can't find stuff in a clean room either, gonna have to go to wal-mart though and see if I can find those stacking baskets!
ReplyDeletethe "after" is amazing. Who would've thunk it.
ReplyDeleteI kind of like the chaos myself.
You did a great job...I can breath normally now. This is gonna be hard for me to click on these next rooms, at least you prepared me for your room! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!! You have given me some inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWow.. fantastic job! I am just getting back into scrapbooking after.. well after some time LOL I just recently.. over the past couple of weeks pulled everything in from the garage and organized everything. I couldn't scrap with everything in the garage! Great job on your space :)
ReplyDeleteStacking baskets... I am starting a list of things I need to go get.
ReplyDeleteNow - those are some impressive "after" photos! Let's not keep it that way for too long though, okay! ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, that was quite the change! I love those stacker baskets - I use them all the time. I get mine at the dollar store - cheaper % just as good as the ones at Walmart.
ReplyDeleteLooks great Amber!! Hahaha, I live in organized chaos!

Nice job Amber! I too work in 'organized chaos' but it really makes me anxious, so I am taking a cue and inspiration from your transformation to get my space together. Def need a few of the baskets for my 'use all the time items." Thanks for sharing your space and ideas w/us.
ReplyDeleteI like the baskets.. I tried the woven squishy ones. not so hot. but your's seem to be super sturdy! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job Amber! Like your space---when it's like this! Thanks for not giving me a panic attack! LOL..For your desk, what don't you like about it?? The color? paint it, decoupage it! It looks like a great desk!

ReplyDeleteI totally agree with your regarding putting stuff away. If it is put away, I forget that I have it to use or can't remember where I put it. My craft table is very messy but I know where everything is! My husband just walks in shakes his head and walks back out-lol. TYFS! I look forward to the rest of the hop :D
ReplyDeleteIn my world, if it's not a mess, then I'm spending too much time time cleaning and not enough time crafting ! I like to craft one disaster after another, because then I know where everything is.Now that it is all clean, and you have photographic proof, have fun creating crafting chaos!
ReplyDeleteI love the wall organizer! You worked hard organizing all that chaos ;-)
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I would love to get more organized!
ReplyDeleteYou "done good," Amber! ;) I'm with the others, though...want to see a one week after pic...and maybe a monthly progression...two weeks...three weeks...4 weeks. Let's see how long it lasts! ;) Nice job, though! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration, Amber! Things looks great! I think I need to run to Walmart and get some of those stackable bins, too! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the baskets too! (Same comment as Karen above - cuz that's me, but I wasn't following before! Now I am!!)
ReplyDeleteI have the "If I don't see, I don't have it" thought, but am trying to get some of it behind "closed doors". Love that drawer on your desk . . . that's one thing I'm seriously lacking is drawers. And I think a trip to WalMart is in the near future . . . I love those baskets!!! Thanks for sharing your room and giving us inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteGood job cleaning up Amber! Love your ribbon hangy shelf thingy!
ReplyDeleteAt it's worst, your craft area is neater than mine, lol!

ReplyDeleteGreat cleanup Amber! I love your space and it looks like a fun place to create as well! I LOVE LOVE those sayings on your shelf! I will have to see if my Walmart has them...or maybe make them! And I LOVE that mini ribbon shelf over your desk! Where did you find that one? I haven't seen it before! Now a follower!
ReplyDeleteI love your space, Amber. Great clean up job. I think everyone struggles to keep it clean. Even the OCD. They just clean it up much more often then some of us do. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for storing your trimmers!

ReplyDeleteLooks fabulous! Can I come play in your scrappy room?
ReplyDeletecroppinmama
Great job! I am now motivated to get my scrap area in some kind of order. You know it's time to clean when you keep buying the same things because you didn't realize you already owned them!
ReplyDeleteGreat job in getting it all in place...luv the stackable baskets
ReplyDeleteNice Work Amber!! I might have to check out those stacking baskets at Walmart and I think the room I am moving into at the new house has a window sill just like that!!

ReplyDeleteI have organized chaos, too. I just don't know where to start. I guess the point is just to start. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAmber I love your craft room, sure looks nice now that it is organized, but like you I like to see what I have, in a drawer I forget I have it and dont' use it.. Great job .

ReplyDeleteWow Amber, what a transformation! I know what you mean about us horders. I just got done saying that I do not need anymore paper and guess what I just order on cc - PAPER! Thanks for the blog candy drawing
ReplyDeleteLove it!! Looks great! Hoping this blog hop will inspire me to fix up my room. DH wants to put in cabinets with doors so everything is "put away" but i try to tell him, i won't be able to find it that way! He thinks i'm crazy!! Maybe we can come to a happy medium! Thanks for the hop, i'm off to visit Paula I next! :o)

ReplyDeleteYour room looks great, Amber! You know, if you're not going to use that MM embellishment center, there are a lot of other gals on CC who'd love to see it in the classifieds! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! If I put things away I can't find them anymore. If I tidy up I spend all my time looking afterwards and never get anything done.
ReplyDeleteLove the basket idea! Thanks for your inspiration! I'm a follower!
ReplyDeleteSOOO... if you're ever bored because your scrappy space is all cleaned up, you could always come over and help me find a good way to organize everything! ;) Ha ha ha! Just joking. :) Great job with everything though! I love before & after pictures! Thanks for the fun blog hop!

ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea. I hope to have lots of ideas when I get through them all.
ReplyDeleteI'd use window sills too if I could--any space is MY space! BUT, I have to be able to close the blinds or people at my back tables get blinded by afternoon sun, not good! Thanks for the tour.
